Who we are and what we do
Our Vision: The Internet Is for Everyone.
Our Mission: The Internet Society supports and promotes the development of the Internet as a global technical infrastructure, a resource to enrich people’s lives, and a force for good in society.
Our work aligns with our goals for the Internet to be open, globally connected, secure, and trustworthy. We seek collaboration with all who share these goals.
Internet Standards
Internet standards are the technical guidelines and protocols that ensure interoperability, security, and efficiency across global networks.

The Internet means Opportunities
Like opportunities to study or start a business, so we can improve our lives and uplift our communities. Or the ability to communicate, so we can smile at our far-off loved ones, or share knowledge to advance our understanding of the world. It even helps us find that perfect binge-worthy show or scroll endless videos, so we never say “I’m bored” again.
